    Job Qualifications: Minimum three years of patent legal secretary experience in a law firm; advanced Microsoft Word (Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint are a plus); maintain a current knowledge of U.S., and foreign procedures and rules relating to Intellectual Property; familiarity with EFS and PAIR; excellent proofreading and editing skills; flexibility for occasional OT; superior organization skills; high attention to detail; outstanding communication skills; confidentiality; ability to prioritize, multi-task and work under tight deadlines; desire to provide executive-level support in a legal environment; and ability to work independently or in a team; undergraduate degree highly preferred.

    Responsibilities: Patent prosecution support includes assisting in all areas of the prosecution process, and maintaining a current knowledge of U.S., foreign and Firm procedures and rules relating to Intellectual Property, production of legal documents (including generation of table of contents and table of authorities), file organization and maintenance, docketing and review of incoming documents, and assisting with court filings.

  • Client Relationship Liaison

    We are currently seeking an experienced Client Relationship Liaison to provide legal support services for one of our clients. Qualified candidates will have 3-5 years of intellectual property experience, be detail oriented and have excellent organizational and communication skills. Undergraduate degree strongly preferred, patent secretaries encouraged to apply as this position is a combination of administrative assistant and paralegal.  Individual must be able to meet deadlines, complete projects/assignments and work under pressure/stress efficiently, productively and in a professional manner.

    Individual will act as the intermediary between client and firm by answering questions, providing information, and requesting information concerning the U.S. and foreign patent prosecution and procedures and docket.  Duties also include the preparation and filing of documents with the USPTO, including patent applications, responses to Missing Parts Notices, office action responses, Assignment recordings, Information Disclosure Statements, Formal Drawings, Issue Fees, Certificates of Correction, Petitions, Status Inquiries, Requests for certified patent copies, and other filings.

  • Foreign Docketing Assistant

    We are currently seeking a motivated individual to take responsibility for:  handling the daily maintenance and overall operation of the firm's computerized MDC docketing system including the docketing of foreign prosecution, litigation, and interference due dates for all patent, trademark and copyright cases into MDC including USPTO and court filings dates, abandoning cases, entering data relating to cases transferred to and from the firm; review, process and docket all incoming foreign facsimiles, courier, emails and regular mail on a daily basis in a timely manner; dedocket foreign due dates in MDC as confirmation of filings received from the foreign associates and/or intergovernmental agencies; clear all due dates on the MDC system on a daily basis; maintain the accuracy and integrity of all data entry including the data entry of new US and foreign, patent, trademark, interference and litigation case data.

    5-7 years US and foreign docketing experience required; computerized docketing experience required. 5-7 years of Word Perfect experience required. Type 50-75 wpm.  High school graduate; undergraduate degree preferred.  Must be able to exercise independence and good judgment and have excellent attention to detail.  Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
