LES 2016 Annual Meeting

Deborah Sterling Ph.D., a director in the firm's Biotechnology/Chemical Group, and Michael Q. Lee, a director in the firm's Electronics Group, spoke at the Licensing Executives Society's 2016 Annual Meeting. Dr. Sterling was invited as an expert speaker while Mr. Lee served as moderator on their workshop, "The Impact of IPRs and CBMs on the Healthcare Industry," which covered: the developing practice of early termination of healthcare patents through ex parte reexam, the impact of the IPRs filed by hedge fund managers such as Kyle Bass, and how the combined attack of IPRs and ex parte reexams "can be a devastating to patent owners."
