Jon Wright was quoted in a recent IP Law360 article named “Flood of AIA Cases Puts USPTO Among Busiest Patent Venues.” The article discusses the increase in filings for petition at the United States Patent & Trademark Office given the new contested proceedings made available by the AIA. Wright comments that parties see the USPTO as a viable venue to dispute claims. He says that the volume of petitions that have been filed "is indicative of the trust that patent challengers feel that the board is, at least in their view, going to do the right thing in these proceedings….If the patent community had a dim view of the board's ability to get the right answer, we wouldn't see nearly as many filings."
