This week, the Senate will vote on the House version of the Leahy-Smith America Invents Act (H.R. 1249), which promises to be one of the final steps toward enactment of major changes to the U.S. patent system.  In order to provide more detail about the proposed legislation, Sterne Kessler has developed a Patent Reform Resources page available online here.

The Sterne Kessler Patent Reform Resources page will provide direct links to firm content focused on this legislation and its impact on the current U.S. patent system, both immediate and long-term.  Specific topics include litigating before the patent office/new inter partes challenges to patents; Section 18 of patent reform legislation concerning business methods, Section § 102 and retracing the scope of prior art, and immediate impact of patent reform.  We will be updating this page regularly to keep you informed about changes on the horizon, so check back regularly for additional information and analysis.
