On September 25, 2012, we hosted a webinar entitled "Prosecution Strategies Under AIA: Final USPTO Rules and Preparing for First Inventor to File." Presenters were Michele A. Cimbala, Ph.D., Elizabeth J. Haanes, Ph.D., John M. Covert and John T. Haran. This webinar, the fifth in a series focused on the many facets of patent reform, provides an overview of the new USPTO final rules related to patent prosecution, including changes to declarations practice and 3rd party submissions, as well as preparing for first-inventor-to-file by providing a snapshot of the proposed rules recently issued by the Office.  This discussion also touches on what constitutes prior art under the new patent reform law and provides best practices for patent practice under the new system.
