  • Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox P.L.L.C.

On September 16, 2011, the Leahy-Smith America Invents Act was signed into law by President Obama.   This law brings sweeping change to the current U.S. patent system, and these changes reflect many years of debate between various stakeholders.  The provisions of the Act take effect over a range of time – from immediately to a year or more from this date.

Our patent reform team has been tracking this new legislation, the changes it introduces, and the effects it will have on the practice of patent law. During this hour-long webinar recording, our team presents an overview of the America Invents Act. Specifically the team covers the following:

  • New concepts introduced in the law
  • Changes to current practice
  • Analysis of some of the intricacies and exceptions in the America Invents Act
