Pratibha is an associate in Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox’s Biotechnology/Chemical group. Pratibha's practice focuses on biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries, and she is involved in all areas of patent procurement, exploitation, and enforcement. Pratibha has experience in patentability, validity, infringement, and freedom-to-operate analyses; due diligence investigations; and patent cases involving Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDAs), including Paragraph IV certifications to Orange Book-listed patents. Pratibha also has experience in post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board at the USPTO, patent litigation, and patent prosecution.
Prior to joining SKGF, Pratibha was a law clerk and technical advisor at an intellectual property law firm. During law school, Pratibha was a judicial extern for the Honorable James P. Flannery at the Illinois Circuit Court of Cook County, Chicago and served as an associate editor for the Chicago-Kent Journal of Intellectual Property. In addition, Pratibha received the CALI award for the highest grade in Mediation and in International Intellectual Property Law.
Pratibha's doctoral research focused on the role of p53 in the development and treatment of malignant melanomas. Pratibha's primary technical areas include genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, cancer biology, immunology, pharmacology, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, and clean technology.
