Mr. Hopfinger is an associate in the Electronics group where he assists in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications.
His technical experience includes software systems, computer networks and bioinformatics. He brings additional experience in security and cryptography from his past research experience designing a mobile communications system for first responders at the University of Michigan.
Mr. Hopfinger is a contributing author of Patent Office Litigation, Second Edition, published in 2017 by Thomson Reuters Westlaw, the book provides a fresh and comprehensive exploration of patent office litigation proceedings, including how the proceedings interact with other aspects of patent procurement and enforcement, while delivering practical analysis and advice.
Prior to joining Sterne Kessler, Mr. Hopfinger worked in the area of computer networks, developing Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) technologies at Arbor Networks.
